about

The Art of Being Alone is a ten-song diary of songs that bring the listener on a tour through the halls of profound heartbreak on a journey towards healing and redemption. Devastating sadness, the habit of looking at old photographs with a newly former lover, reconciliation of broken promises of forever love, willingness to sacrifice every to bring them back, the Jungian shadow, past guidance by a guardian angel, horoscopes, the memory of the place of a first kiss, and resigned acceptance of loss - all of these are themes explored in an album that is tied together by the thread of self-discovery through intense emotional self-examination. Written at the end of a “Sovereign Heart Summer”, The Art of Being Alone marks the end of a phase of denial and heartens the listener to meditate on the deep lachrymose of the experience of loss through to the fond celebration of joyful memories of a lover with whom one has parted ways.
